Merry Christmas from the Boyer Sisters!

Merry Christmas from the Boyer Sisters!
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!
It is hard to believe that Christmas is already here once again. This past year has flown by SO fast, and so much has happened since last Christmas that we can hardly believe it was only a year ago that we were dreaming about everything that actually happened this year. The Lord has indeed blessed us! We wanted to send you all a Christmas greeting with one of our new favorite Christmas songs, and give you a peek into what our Christmas has been like thus far. So, without further ado, Christmas in about 3 Minutes!

A Little Bit of Christmas

A Little Bit of Christmas

This Christmas season has been like none other for our family. What would typically be a pleasantly busy (Ok, so maybe not too pleasantly busy) month in which we are able to fit in our random seasonal traditions (one whole day of decorating after fetching our Christmas tree, while blasting The Kings Singers & Christmas Dance Party through the very foundations of the house), has turned out to be a hodge-podge of getting things ready here, prepping this there... To be blunt, so much of our girls' days have been consumed in the blog & our many singing performances. To say that I am stressed would be an understatement... And yet there is so much excitement and anticipation! We girls couldn't imagine a better way to occupy our time. And then little, bright rays of sunshine come in through the cloudy days when you send in your sweet, precious thoughts to us, uplifting & encouraging us girls in our work. Thank you! It has brought us so much joy to know that our work is paying off. We couldn't do it without you!

Oh, Christmas Tree // Ornaments Old & New (+Giveaway Winner!)

Oh, Christmas Tree // Ornaments Old & New

Hello everyone. Year by year our Christmas tree decorations have grown and transformed, just as much as the girls and I have. I had a lovely inspiration, yesterday morning, to show you all an assortment of Christmas ornaments we once used, and are now using, thinking how fun it would be for you all to see what we once used, as compared to what we use nowadays. Let take a look!

Happy Thanks Giving!

Happy Thanks Giving!
Hello friends! We wanted to wish a very Happy Thanks Giving to all our U.S. readers! This is one of our favorite holidays, because it allows us to reflect on our nation's Christian foundations that were laid down (by the grace of God) by our Founding Fathers at the landing of the Mayflower, the First Thanks Giving, and all the successive events after that.

Outtakes // Vol. 2

Outtakes // Vol. 2

Yippee! Today is... What? Oh No! Without a doubt, today is the most awkward, the most absurd, the most unladylike post we could put on this blog of ours! That's right. It's Outtakes day, friends. All of our goofy, personal things are in here. Now obviously this is still but a glimpse into our funny bone dispositions, but at least you're not getting the opposite end of the spectrum... hem... cat fights anyone? So please enjoy at our expense, the lovely collection of shots we have for you all today.

Top 5 (Natural) Cold Remedies

Top Five Cold Remedies
Well, friends, it would appear that the cold season is upon us! Especially seeing that our family alone has experienced two bouts of last month. Yikes! In light of this not-so-fun fact, Jess and I are going to share some of our family's top cold remedies and preventatives. Let's go!

Outtakes // Vol. 1

Outtakes // Vol. 1
Hello all! To kick off the week, we girls wanted to share a few snapshots from our past blog photo shoots that never made it to a post. Often times when we watch a film, we girls always scour the special features for bloopers and deleted scenes; so we thought it would be fun to implement that idea here on the blog! Enjoy :)

Classy on Sunday // Edwardian Autumn

Bible Bee Outfits // Brigid

Bible Bee Outfits // Brigid
Hello Dearies! How has your week been? The past two days have been filled with bus rides and busy-ness! We are finally down in Orlando, and today is my favorite day of Nationals: Contestant Registration! I love this day of the Nationals week because I have been a tour guide on this day for the past two years, and get to be one again this year! It is so much fun being able to be one of the first people to greet a contestant family, and then escort them around the facility until we finally get to registration, hearing how many years they've come to nationals, where they came from. It is such a growing experience for me, as I normally don't like to talk to strangers, but this day helps me get out of that shell. Anyways... Would you like to see the rest of my Bible Bee wardrobe?

Classy on Sunday // Adventure is Out There!

Classy on Sunday // Adventure is Out There!
Hello lovelies! Today we are all in a whirl preparing for a big gig we girls have tonight, and our even bigger trip this next week to National Bible Bee. If you haven't already heard, our family is volunteering for the third time in a row at NBB, and this time it's in Orlando, Florida. Which, by the way, is 18+ hours away from us and BB headquarters. So all of us volunteers are taking a 2-day trip on a charter bus down... which our whole family is rather excited for/dreading... I seriously think we live one of the most excited/peaceful/wonderful lives a family of mostly girls could. As the old saying goes, "Adventure is Out There!" :D

Our Favorite Comments // Vol. 1

Our Favorite Comments // Vol. 1
Happy Monday everyone!
You might be wondering at the title of this post. I'll gladly explain–after receiving quite a few informative comments on my Hair Parlor post last week, I was suddenly struck by this thought, "What if we began to put up posts in honor of our followers' comments of encouragement, support, and great ideas!" I took this idea to the girls and they liked it just as much as I. Thus, here I am writing a post for you all today! Take a bow ladies! Your thoughts and kind words are the fuel that keeps us going!

What's on My Sewing Table // Palazzo Pants
Hello dearies! Sometimes things just do not work out the way you had planned them. I had planned on writing up this "garment making process" post in expectation of showing you the finished product next week, but alas, that shall not be. At least not in the way I had planned.

Remembering WWII // The USO Show!

Remembering WWII // The USO Show!
Hello dearies! Before we (Jessica and I) get started, I want you all to do something for me. Pull up Spotify, or if you don't have that, pull up iTunes or Amazon. Search for "The Big Debut" by the Boyer Family Singers. Press play, purchase, or whatever it requires for you to be able to hear the music. Now. Now, you can start reading this post, and as you look at the few photos that we have of the Remembering WWII U.S.O show (courtesy of the amazing Charles Vernier), imagine yourself there, listening to the music, and enjoying the beautiful, fading memories of an amazing day. Alright, you all set? Let's get started.

Remembering WWII // Music, Veterans & Canteens

Remembering WWII // Music & Vets
Hello again! I am here to share part two of the Remembering WWII photo-overload with you all ;) This time the photos capture some of the veterans & performers at the event, which really made the whole thing so special. The veteran's stories were SO incredibly powerful, and left many of us breathless and in complete wonder of how those heroes pulled through. God's providence in their adventures in the war was so evident through the whole thing. Also, it was fabulous to see many other talented performers get up on the stage and sing the popular tunes from WWII. You can't imagine how refreshing it was for us girls to see other young folks just as eager to remember and share the songs of the past to the present generations! This was truly an event of living history, folks!

Remembering WWII // Prep & Battle Reenactment

Remembering WWII // Prep & Battle Reenactment
Hey everyone! Charlotte here to share some of the photos that I took at the Remembering WWII event this past weekend. I was SO stoked when Jessica Courter asked me to help out with the photography at the reenactment! Today I am going to share with you some frames that I snapped when we were helping set up early morning for the USO show, and during the battle reenactment (which was Ah-mazing!!) Get ready for photo overload! :D

Remembering WWII // Fellowship

Remembering WWII // Fellowship
Hey y'all! Wow! What did I just say? Y'all? Really? Yep, really. That is what you get for staying three days down in Linden Tennessee–the pretty contagious way of speaking about the third person plural. Haha! Oh dear! Well, it was such a crazy whirlwind of hours of fellowship, meeting person after wonderful person, and singing–can't forget the singing part–that I am not sure we three will be able to do justice to this week's account of Remembering WWII. But many things must be said. Okay, no going back now... Let's begin with the time our family spent in fellowship with everyone who gathered for this momentous occasion.

Classy on Sunday // September Flora

Classy on Sunday // September Flora
Hello my dears!

It was so great to see all of your ecstatic comments on the A Pocket of Whimsy Giveaway post! That is really going to be so much fun to see who gets to win! We are in a pretty awesome season here on the BFS blog right now, and I’ll tell you why–we have a whole sidebar full of advertisers (Please check them all out!), next week we will be heading down to Linden Tennessee for the big Remembering WWII event (we hope to meet some of you there!), and we just feel really, really good about where the Lord has placed us at this point. All in all, these are blessings, and gracious gifts from the Lord. (Luke 11:9)

How I // Learned to Sew

How I // Learned to Sew
I have been making things; doo-hickeys, what-nots, and thing-a-ma-bobs, for as long as I can remember. When I was younger they were made from paper cups and pipe cleaners, wooden beads and scraps of fabric.Yes, these were the unsophisticated materials of the creations of my 5 year old self. One day, though, I wanted to make a doll. On the sewing machine. That didn't happen (my Mom ended up sewing it for me). Then I wanted to make clothes for my china dolls and my barbie dolls, and so did my sisters. So we got a book from the library and Mom helped us make some doll clothes. Those were glorious times, but I wanted to know more than Mom could teach me. So one day, after a bit of deliberation and discussion with Dad, Mom took me to my first ever sewing camp.

My world would never be the same.

Classy on Sunday // Plaid Ballerina

Classy on Sunday // Plaid Ballerina
Happy Saturday my dears! How has your week been thus far? Mine has been an absolute roller-coaster ride. Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that we've been dealing with a sick doggie (poor thing! Your prayers would be greatly appreciated!), and the back and forth, sorrow and hope have left our house in a whirlwind of emotions. I'm just thankful that things are starting to calm down now. Even in our sorrows God brings us joy, and comforts us in the midst of our anxiety.
