Hope Chest // Last but Not Least Part II - Memories

IMG_6408
Bum bum bum BUM! This is the very last Hope Chest post everyone!
I am so happy I have been able to share with you all the many items I have stored up in my chest of dreams. Not only has it been a journey of sorting out one's own thoughts on the subject, but it has also been a remarkable time reading all of your thoughts and habits that many of you have picked up along your own hope chest journeys. Then too, there are a few of you who have either never heard storing up household items for your future married lives (Lord willing), or perhaps you have but didn't really know how to start such a daunting project. All in all, I believe I can safely say we have all gained something valuable out of this series, and I hope that we can one day teach this practice to our own daughters.

Hope Chest // Home Accessories

Home-Accessories-1
Hi everybody!
I better give you all a heads up that today's Hope Chest post marks the second to last... yes! The very last...! *sniff* Hem hem! I do, however, plan to lengthen the process of saying goodbye to this series through a welcomed interruption. With the many complements and one sincere request I received on my hair this past C.O.S., I have decided to make a little tutorial video on pin curls, and put it up next tuesday instead of my usual Hope Chest post. Sound like a plan ladies? I hope so!

Hope Chest // Glasses

Hope-Chest-Glasses_1
Hi everyone!

Can you believe it? This post marks the very last of kitchen related Hope Chest items! I am only so glad that Mom came up with the idea of my doing this blog series with you all, even more so that I took her advice – I have learned a great deal from your welcomed thoughts and ideas, as well as past experience from older young women who have stopped by to comment from time to time. My heart goes out to you all, and I give you my heartiest of thanks for all of your participation in this series!

Now as I sit here thinking of what to type out for this post, my thoughts keep wandering back to one of our girls' favorite lines from "Little Bear" when Father Bear asks the silly question, "Has anyone seen my glasses?" For those of you who, like us, grew up with that sweet TV show, ought to remember that Father Bear was wearing the glasses right on top of his head when he made the hilarious inquiry (oh sweet childhood, where have you gone?). But at one point I too was asking myself when looking over my selection of Hope Chest things, "Where are my glasses?".

Hope Chest // Dishes

Hello everyone!
Brrrrr! It is frightfully cold outside today! We had a terrific winter storm blow in sometime last night and now the ground has a fresh coating of snow. The wind blows right through our warm winter coats, and despite the furnace's efforts in keeping our house warm today, we are still walking around a bit stiffishly.

Anyhow. Today we get to review the plates found in my Hope Chest. Lets take a little look, shall we?

Hello again everyone!

I am so excited to share with you all this post! #1 Because I am so thrilled with how well the photos turned out, just wait till you see their simplistic beauty (We have finally found the best place in our house for indoor, still life shoots! All kudos to my brilliant youngest sister! Thanks Lottie!) #2 Because this post marks the second to last (I think) post in the series having to do with all things food! #3 I get to show you some of my favorite Party Gift items! Hope you all have fun! Lets begin.

Hello there, ladies!
I am so anxious to get this post up so I can go outside to have some fun in the snow! Yes! We have snow again, and about 5 inches of it too! But before I get carried away with the thrill of the day, lets get down to business and discuss the all important Bakery Items a young lady could have in her dear Hope Chest.

Hope Chest Series // Book Guide

Hope Chest Books banner
Good afternoon ladies!
This title slightly incorrect when it says "Guide", as I actually have not read more than the Table of Contents for each one, so I will not be guiding you in their thoughtful ideas of house keeping, gardening, scheduling, etc.,  but I will endeavor to give you all a sense of what books should definitely be found in your chests. Lets have a look!

Hope Chest Series // Q&A

Answers to questions
Hi there Ladies!

Hoorah! I am officially over my cold as of yesterday! Give the girls a day or two to catch up and they will be completely well too! Praise the Lord! We needed to be over that cold A.S.A.P. for this Saturday, as we will be singing with one of our favorite local bands at an old Opry' House! We are excited beyond words! Pray that it goes well, as well as for clear voices!

Hope Chest Q&A

hope chest Q+A
Well, hello ladies!

Unfortunately over the weekend I developed a cold-like flu. Woo hoo! Isn't that just great?! Thus having laid in bed all day yesterday and part of today, I never got a chance to really prepare anything for this post. So sorry! But then again, life happens. Dear Charlotte was very good to me, and fixed up the basics for this post, so I won't walk away from this week without putting something up.

The idea is, if you can't already tell, to comment down below about anything that has to do with a Hope Chest; it could be anything from the whys, to how to get one, to what do you put in it, to books that I could recommend the Hope Chest tradition, etc..

So type away everyone, and I'll get back to you all next week with a post to answer all your hearts' inquiries!

Looking ahead with a smile (while trying not to cough... where did I put those lozenges...?)!  ;)

Love,

Jessica
The eldest sister and singer

Hope Chest Series // Shopping & Gardening Tools

Huzzah! I'm back! Ready for my new Hope Chest Series?

Well! After having spent a week down in Sevierville, Tennessee, volunteering for the National Bible Bee, one may become extremely exhausted! But let me tell you -- it was all worth every minute! There is no better place to hear the Word written and recited continuously then at the Bible Bee! I kid you not; every step you take you hear of some blessing, a word of encouragement, and best of all the Gospel being proclaimed day in and day out! Praise the Lord!
