Classy on Sunday // Plaid Ballerina

Classy on Sunday // Plaid Ballerina
Happy Saturday my dears! How has your week been thus far? Mine has been an absolute roller-coaster ride. Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that we've been dealing with a sick doggie (poor thing! Your prayers would be greatly appreciated!), and the back and forth, sorrow and hope have left our house in a whirlwind of emotions. I'm just thankful that things are starting to calm down now. Even in our sorrows God brings us joy, and comforts us in the midst of our anxiety.

I didn't want to wear heels this past Sunday, even though I didn't have to play piano, so I opted for my trusty ballet flats. It's funny how certain combinations, i.e. twirly skirt + ballet flats, bring up picture in our minds of occupations, movies and people. This outfit reminded me of a ballerina, with her beautiful slippers, feminine dress, and effortless grace. If only I were as graceful as a ballerina! You should have seen my failed attempts at a pirouette. Nope! Those photos are not making it up on the blog!

The joy in the midst of sorrow that I mentioned above is not only the fact that our dear doggie companion (I can't mention his name online. Rules and all that, you know. ;D) is home and doing better after two and a half days of being at the vet, but the encouragement from all of you! We've been gradually selling CD's on our website (thanks to all of our followers who have purchased one!), and things as far as singing go are getting exciting. You, our dear friends, are what makes all of this worthwhile, encouraging us along the way to keep trusting in God's providence and abounding mercy, and following the path He has laid our for us.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

What has been going on in your life recently?
What have you worn to Church recently?

Trust in Him!

  2. You look so pretty, as always. I do love the Classy on Sunday posts. I can't tell you how many times these posts have inspired me when I'm looking at my closet and saying, "Crud, what am I gonna' wear to church tomorrow?" I am getting so tired of summer dresses. I caught myself looking longingly at a wool skirt and dreaming of the layers I would pair it with :) I need to remind myself to enjoy the moment, this season, this day, rather than always looking ahead.

I'm praying for all of you as you go through all the emotional upheaval of having a sick doggie. I know that isn't fun.

I'm off to look at ShopMieux! Not that I really need more clothes...:)

  3. I love this pattern in plaid. I am still shopping around just waiting for the right fabric at the right price to make this dress. It's so sad when a dog, or any pet is sick. They can't tell you exactly how they feel or what they need. I'll be praying for your sick pup.

  4. I'm so glad to hear your doggie is doing better; I know what it's like to have a dear canine companion at death's door. <3 It's also good to hear that you have been trusting the Lord through it all.
    Your outfit is darling! :D

  5. Very darling for this season Brigid! That necklace gets me every time! :)

We will continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers concerning your sick pup.

Lately, I have found myself longing or some cooler weather- those types of clothes that come with the tree's changing their shades and Autumn's breezes are my delight.

    xo,
    Cassie

  6. We're praying for your family, Brigid!

This dress is so lovely. The lines are so elegant, clean, and flattering. Just lovely! And your necklace and makeup pair so well with it.

I love the Black-Eyed Susans in the background! (I think that's what those flowers are! *smile*)
