Meet-Up with Alison

Meet-Up with Alison
Hey all! You don't know how excited I am that it's Saturday tomorrow and we get to sleeepppp innnnn.......! :) I have been battling a yucky sinus infection/cold this past week, so getting up at 5:30 each morning to do geometry, plus our family dealing with a stressful time of a very sick dog at the vet's, hasn't exactly been delightful... Anyways, I have a wonderful meet-up to share with you, so let's buckle down and get to it! :)

As I mentioned in this post, last Saturday we met up with the lovely, sweet Alison of Alison Faith Photography, as well as her delightful mother. After a few weeks of going back and forth setting the date and time, it turned out to be a mother-daughter meet-up. We first ate lunch in a park, where we got to know each other and swap backgrounds, etc. We then headed to a small town near us that is filled to the brim with antique shops and vintage nostalgia, to shop around, share history and memories spurred on by the old relics that we found, and just talk :)

Brigid had the delight of trying on a vintage Nurse's hat! Call the Midwife, anyone? ;)

Oh, and this camera. So cool. It's like a toy version of the one Fred Astaire used in Funny Face!

We stopped for some group pictures, and then ice cream & shakes since one of the shops that we wanted to go to was closed, and something cold & sweet was too alluring to pass up. Despite exceedingly messy dripping cones for the ice-cream-getters, the refreshments were delectable and hit the spot. There was never a dull moment of silence between the six of us. Conversation just ran off our lips, which can be such a blessing when one's just getting to know another!

Alison and her Mom were such a delight to be with, and it was so wonderful coming away from that meet-up with a new-found friendship! We girls are so thankful to God for connecting Alison, her Mom and ourselves!

xoxo,
-Charlotte
