Super cute! Thanks for stressing the fact that modesty is not only that you are covered but HOW you are covered (with the fit of items, specifically). That point is often overlooked.

I make my own patterns most of the time... or adapt them heavily. What I'd add - for people drawn that way - is also a good basic trouser pattern that - and this is most important - fits you well in waist, hips and the crotch area. The width or length of the legs can be easily altered, but you need it to fit you at the crucial points, because otherwise trousers can be most uncomfortable and unflattering! (Relying on stretch fabrics there you want to avoid, too.)
My basic skirt shape is A-line; that's another one you overlooked a bit, but otherwise I agree with your list wholeheartedly. Just like with trousers, you want one that fits well in waist / hips and the rest can be played with. You can attach a skirt pattern to a blouse pattern and make a dress. Or lengthen a blouse pattern for a dress.

Wow, you three have certainly been doing some experimentation! I myself, started going shampoo free in July and it's been over 16 weeks since I started. I have been using the BS and ACV method. I know that there are some bad stories about it, but by far, I would say there are more good stories than bad. I think there are a couple of factors that effect the results people get:
Thanks ever so much ladies!
Cheers!

ReplyDeletethis IS a great series. i love the thoughtful comments from the avonlea inspired shoot. what some of the fellow ladies have to say about dreams is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I added my own two cents to Maria's comment at the shampoo post now, because, alas, no and no and no, as much as I would wish for a different reality.
