You know the outfit where you just want to have fun with it? Though it might seem a bit too mix-matched, but you plumb don't care at all. It's an outfit you feel good in, and can't help but kick up some leaves and cheekily smile and laugh in. Well, that' my November Rainbow Outfit.

It all started with a dress: A good friend of Jessica's, Nellie, gave us girls some adorable vintage frocks a month or so ago. Each of us got our own frock, and out of the quartet I selected a bright, 70s rainbow perfection of a dress. Think taking all the gorgeous rainbow-striped lollipops from your favorite candy store and turning them into a sundress. But, it was a sundress, and sundresses just don't work for Autumn... or so I thought...

Do you ever get a new piece of clothing, and want to wear it right away, even though it may be out of season? Well, that's the way I felt about that dress. With a little determination and creativity, I was able to transform a very beach-ready dress to an autumn-perfect frock.

Angel and I had too much fun posing for Brigid during the photo shoot! Especially since Mom blew all of the leaves to the edge of our lawn, creating an absolute haven for leaf-kicking and tearing-to-shreds :D

One of you asked about these wonderful boots of mine, whether they were of good quality, etc. so today I'm going to share!

I purchased these boots on a discount from Ruche, and boy but they are by far my most-worn item in my F/W wardrobe to date, and are pure magic :) They are made of faux leather, and may not be of the most amazing build-quality, but the price was right for the shoe I got. They are lined inside, which makes for über cozy feet in chilly weather. The outer material is the type of faux leather that feels like it is water-proof, so they don't scuff super easily; and if they do, the scuffs look like they are actually a feature of the boot. Bonus for all you ladies who easily scuff up their shoes (read: me)!

All in all, I am in love with these boots: the style is perfect, the warmth-factor is amazing. You can check them out here.

  2. I'm definitely a shoe scuffer! I got a pair of boots from Ruche also, but sadly they aren't as scuff-proof as yours. :( They are super warm and comfortable though! I love your outfit- it looks really comfy and the colors are lovely!

  3. This is adorable, Charlotte! And yes, I often have that problem of buying an out season item and the desire to wear it. If it helps, I think this looks super cute and totally weather appropriate.

  5. Shoe-scuffer Supreme right here! There isn't a pair of shoes I own that isn't scuffed up. The interesting part...it's worse on the inside portion of the heels. I don't know if it comes from being flat-footed with a tendency for my ankles to turn inward, but that's how it goes. Scuffed inner heels.

You LOOK like you were having a ball! :)

What do you girls think about this article? What are your plans/rules/college guidlines? As a senior, I'm really struggling with this. I want to be a nurse, and work in pediatrics, but don't know if I should stay home and learn from my parents, or what! Argh! So many decisions!

Do you have any input for me? Thanks!

Oh, btw, I love those boots! I have some leather ones sort of like that...they're so comfy!

    1. Hello Kitchen Made,

We completely agree with what Jasmine said in this article. I just graduated from high-school this past year, and my older sister Jessica graduated last year. So far we are not planning on going to college, or even doing an online program such as CollegePlus, though I've heard many success stories from using that route, and it would probably be what I would use if I wanted to further my education in that way.

Right now, we see our calling as being in our home. But we aren't just sitting around. We girls run this blog (which takes a lot more work than one might think!), and we also sing quite frequently at various events. We came to this conclusion through discussions with our parents. And while our parents are not against us going to college, we girls have decided we would rather not go that route.

I would ask yourself these questions: Why do I want to become a nurse? Do I need to? Or is there something else I would rather do that I can study for at home? What do my parents want me to do?

I know quite a few young ladies who want to, or are going to study nursing in college. From my point of view it seems like a "just in case" type of scenario like Jasmine spoke of. If you want to study nursing, etc. but don't want to have to go to college to do so, there are SO many courses on natural healing these days. But if you feel that the Lord is calling you to go and study to become a nurse, and your parents are encouraging you in that way, then go and do that.

Prayer and wise counsel from your parents are the two things that I would seek in the time of your life that you are in right now.

      We'll be praying for you.

      Blessings,

      Brigid

Thanks so much! Food for thought....do you all think it is tempting fate to have a 'fall back on' plan?

  15. Colour in autumn is great, so no wonder you wanted to make it work! And you did.

  16. Aw, you are so cute! And it's although it is the type that would seem mis-matched on the hanger, it looks absolutely perfect on you. It also seems to match your personality. I imagine you to be a very bright, colorful, and animated person and that outfit goes right with it. :)
