Hello my dears!
What a wonderful week of catch-up this has been for the girls and I! We have not had any singing engagements, hardly any commitments, and we even got a surprise invite to use someone's tickets to enjoy ourselves at the Latest Cincinatti Ballet performance. What fun! Truly these past few days have been gifts from the Lord in which we can catch our breath from the fast pace of volunteer work we were up to last week. I thank Him for every day I wake up and find myself home in my own room.

You must know how much we girls thoroughly enjoyed staying in touch with you all via the comments you sent us all last week! We were inspired to do our best, every day of work we had, and that was a blessing indeed. Thank you all so much!
Now as to this outfit, I must say that all I wanted to wear for Church was something WARM. We have an interesting situation with our Church facilities at present in which we have the options of meeting in one of two buildings. They are both extremely old, in need of restoration, repair, and the biggest issue of all is the lack of heating in one building (it is an old Cathedral from the mid 1800's), and cooling in the other (the Church's school building, constructed before the Cathedral!). The Cathedral is so big that a heater cannot possibly heat the building without the heating bill exploding during the frigid months. So we meet in the smaller upstairs room in the School since it is fitted out with good strong heaters.
Thus a wee migration takes place in our congregation, and we head "south for the winter" when our feet begin to freeze. This can be a time of grumbling and complaining. So I try my hardest to make the best of things and not complain, for after all, if we didn't have to make this necessary move every year, we would take our warm selves for granted, not to mention our historical Church abode. All in all, if we are smart, and make do with what we have clothes-wise, not falling prey to the dissatisfaction of our flesh, and instead giving thanks for a barrel vault roof over our heads, this truly could be a merry time of year.

Do you have heating and cooling issues at your Church?
Do you strive to keep your complaints to yourself?
Do you strive to be grateful for everything God has given you?
Much love and blessings to you all!

Love the outfit and the post! ♥ It's actually been quite hot in our church lately, something seems to be wrong with our AC so it's been reaching up to 85+ degrees! Yikes! I'm currently trying harder to keep myself from complaining. Patience and a humble spirit is important and yes, it's definitely something I struggle with!
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY LOVE THIS OUTFIT!! I love your combination of colors........It looks winter-y but still has a hint of spring and summer in it! <3
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so perfectly ladylike. I just love it :)
ReplyDeletedance a real
What a cute outfit! It looks warm too. You did a nice job of mixing solid colors!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Looks warm and toasty! I've been struggling to motivate myself to dress warm yet stylishly as it gets colder in Indiana. I guess the cold would be a disadvantage of having church in an old building...although I love old churches!
ReplyDeletehow interesting. i've seen a photo of your church and it is stunning, but i can totally understand the cold problem. i admire your sunny outlook and resolution not to get too discouraged. its so much harder to find something pleasant to say than to just chime in with the complaining, no matter how simple the comment.
ReplyDeleteyou look so lovely. these colors are very good for you. glad you all have had time to catch up and slow down, something I've been experiencing and thankful for this week, too. :)
Oh this is so stylish and lovely! Jessica, you are so poised and elegant. I really think you look like Vera Lynn!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as always!
ReplyDeleteCardigans are so cozy in fall.

Such a cute and cheery outfit Jessica! That Flexi is darling! :)
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, the place where our home-church is meeting currently is the basement of our old Church building! The last few gatherings, it has been much like a sauna! Weeks before like a freezer! Ha ha! Since our sister States have moved into the cooler months, dressing appropriately has been a little bit difficult! What with the cold windiness of the outdoors and the wafts of warm heat within.
