Bible Bee Outfits // Charlotte

Bible Bee Outfits // Charlotte
Hello my dears! I am the last in line to share my National Bible Bee wardrobe with you all (that's what you get for being the youngest ;), and I hope you will gather some inspiration when packing for your next vacation! I decided to go a slightly different route than the girls, and aim for more of a "capsule wardrobe", styling a few staple pieces in different ways throughout the week.

When it comes to packing, I am not the type to assign myself specific outfits for each day, and stay within those bounds. I like more freedom and flexibility when designing my outfits, so that the day of I can come up with a combination that fits my mood, present clothing condition (I don't really like to wear a shirt with pizza sauce on it two days in a row, if you know what I mean...), etc. Thus, I try to pack pieces that can go with each other and not just that certain skirt or that specific shirt. Due to this fact, a few of these outfits might be subject to change, but I think you will get the general idea of what I am packing in my suitcase.

Monday: Ah, the dreaded/greatly anticipated bus ride... Since we would be going from chilly Ohio October to the land of the "winter birds", I decided to go with an outfit that would reflect the tropical atmosphere of Florida, while still layering so that I can take off as needed through our journey. Maxi skirts are great for this, since they both keep you warm in cooler climates, and comfortable in warmer weather. Oh, and gold, polkadots and a bright lip color are a must for long road trips... or, at least for me :D

Tuesday: Day 2 of the bus ride, and the beginning of volunteer work! The entire theme of NBB this year is nautical (since the Sword Study was on the book of Jonah), so on Tuesday I decided to wear an outfit that revolves around that theme. Enter my favorite neon-yellow stripe shirt & new homemade jean trousers! You seriously can't go wrong with wide-leg pants & stripes when aiming for a sea-worthy style! And the fact that my trousers & shirt are über comfy is an added bonus when volunteering :D

Wednesday: Registration day! That day I was editing photos alllll dayyyy lonnnnnggg... Yay :D Personally, I wouldn't have had it any other way, since it fits so perfectly into my creative interest! Anyway, for that day I wanted to match my best girls and style the incredible palazzos Brigid accidentally made for me (read more about that story here) :) Also, that day was the assigned day of wearing nautical fashions, so obviously my stripe shirt and starfish necklace from our favorite etsy shop were a must.

Thursday: Today! My position is info-boothing with Mom and helping out with the Women's Team. I know I'm a little nuts for wearing tights & heels on a day when I will be working a lot later in the evening, but my justification is that I will be sitting down all morning & afternoon, and be attending the Opening Ceremony later in the evening, so I want to look at least a little more dressy :)

Friday: This day includes a lot of tearing down and general volunteer work. This outfit is by far my favorite outfit of all the outfits. The shirt is sooo comfy, the skirt is equally comfy & probably my favorite piece in my suitcase. I'm wearing my perfectly practical gold flats (have you noticed I've worn these things 4 out of the 5 days we've been here?) for comfort's sake.

Saturday Afternoon: The last day! Yay! Saturday will be filled with general volunteer work once again, with the Closing Ceremony (outfit shown below) at the end. My capsule wardrobe is once again in action with this outfit through my blue skirt & black oxfords. Oh, and Angel was having fun with the leaves, so we wanted to let her join in the photo shoot :D

Saturday Evening: Duh-daddlyump-bum-bum-bum! The last outfit of my wardrobe for NBB! There's nothing more uplifting to a girl's spirit than dressing up in a pretty gown, statement necklace, and a swipe of bright lipstick after a long day of volunteering; and that's what I plan to do Saturday night for the Closing Ceremony!

Like I said in the beginning, I chose to mix and match several of the same pieces so that I could pack less and channel more creativity! And I am keeping my makeup & accessories very simple and to-the-point, since we won't have a lot of time to get ready in the morning.

Before I go, I just wanted to plug Cowgirl Dirt's sweepstakes again! It ends on the 31st (tomorrow), so if you want to enter to win $400 worth of Cowgirl Dirt makeup, this is your chance! There are oodles of other fabulous prizes too, so all the more reason to enter :D

What is your favorite outfit that I wore to Bible Bee?

xoxo,
-Charlotte

  2. I love your black dress! And your black oxfords are so cute! I've been trying to find a nice pair that don't have too high of a heel for my F/W wardrobe. I also really like your blue skirt with the black and white blouse; it's the perfect mix of classy and summery. :)

I like how you all chose to wear your palazzo pants on the same day! ;) The way each of you styled them was very nice.

    Outfits 3 & 4 were my favorites.

  8. Such adorable outfits, Charlotte! I love the color blocking that you do in the first outfit. It looks classy, but also very comfortable which would be perfect for a long road trip. I also have to tell you, red lips look amazing on you! It can be a hard color to pull off :)

  9. The Saturday night dress is lovely of course. I also love the blue skirt with printed shirt. It is really timeless. I also love your wide leg jeans. It is impossible to find jeans in the stores that are decent fitting, even for my little girl who is very little! I may have to try making some!

I like your scheme -- it's how I've tried to shape my entire wardrobe; basics that will all go together with a few dressy pieces to swap around to match from solid color to color.

Thursday's outfit is totally stunning! I've been meaning to try white tights, but I'm not sure I could pull the look off! Have fun!

  11. Adorable Charlotte! I love numbers 4, 5, and 6 the best! :) Precisely number six. It has that un-expectant flair yet matches wonderfully! And I continue to adore your Peter Pan collared shirt, without making one. What is wrong with me!? Ha ha!

I hope that you all are having a fabulous time down there girls! :) Enjoy it while you can cause the drab before winter is starting to appear...

    Fondly yours,
    Cassie
