Snow + Christmas

DECEMBER 2013_16
Hello all!
So, as I am very short on time, I will make this post brief, and let the many pictures speak for themselves. Over the past few days, the Christmas spirit has finally begun to sink into our home. We found some spare time to set up our holiday decor in the midst of performance preparation and execution; and many inches of snow have fallen on the ground, enveloping our humble little countryside in a beautiful "Winter Wonderland"! This is my first Christmas with my new camera, so I was rather thrilled to capture some snowy, holiday-esque photographs! Especially the bokeh tree effect I always see everyone do… yes, that was rather fun :) Anyway, enjoy the photos, and let me know how you've been getting into the Christmas spirit down below! I'd love to hear :)

  1. I love the pictures Charlotte! I have been getting into the holiday spirit by preparing gifts, playing Christmas music, and performing at different charities.
I noticed that you all wore skirts while you played out in the snow, do you find that easier than wearing snow pants? I typically wear thick leggings and snow pants, it keeps me warm, but I look rather large and somewhat ridiculous. :D I love how you all still look pretty while playing in the snow! What kind of skirts do you wear?

    1. Hi Hannah!
Haha, well we kinda just decided to pull out our sleds and play after we had met with a neighbor on a more "grubbier" visit, without changing into our typical snow pant outfits. We just donned some leggings, petticoats, and a worn/grubby skirt to play in the snow and it worked fine! Nothing technical ;)

  2. What wonderful photos Charlotte!! Truly enjoyed them! Oh, and the kelly green that you have painted in the room were the tree stands is ever so pretty! :)

We have been attending countless practices for our many Christmas singing/bell choir/pageant performances! It really gets you in the Christmas spirit! :) And though we do not put up a Christmas tree, I am (hopefully) spreading out our collection of Christmas decorations later today! :)

    love,
    Cassie

  3. Your photos are beautiful! What an awesome camera you have!

It is SO good to see snow again. I'm from PA, and miss it dearly, but I'm stuck in the south at this point in life.... :)

  6. Snow! That looks like lots of fun. We rarely get so much snow in our low altitude, though when we do, everything turns magical...
Those Christmas ornament photos are particularly beautiful. I will have to try some this year myself! I also have a new and improved camera. :-)

We made gingerbread; and because some broke, I ate them, and that definitely got me into the mood! Wearing my long woollen winter coat, too - it's so snuggly and pretty and feminine and therefore festive.
And candlelight. And watching our cats walk cautiously in the first snow.

  7. P.S. I'd like to see your shawl. It looks a lot like my Indian shawl! http://marmota-b.blogspot.cz/2010/08/now-that-ive-mentioned-sunglasses.html
