Outfit // Picnic Point (+Giveaway!)

Outfit // Picnic Point (+Giveaway!)
Hello dearies! I have a "lake-side picnic" inspired outfit to share with you all today that I hope you'll enjoy (especially because there's a giveaway at the end... :D ). Charlotte and I had such a fun time photographing this shoot, even though the weather wasn't exactly "picnic-perfect".

This whole outfit centered around Lilla Rose's Flexi of the Month, Anchor's Aweigh, which our Lilla Rose consultant, Mrs. Ramm, asked me to style for you all. This flexi has such beautiful aqua-marine shades of blue that I wanted to echo and compliment in my outfit. Somehow the red just fit, though it's not an outfit that necessarily screams "seaside". I think it lets the flexi speak for itself in its "seaside-ness". Oh, and by the way, when we received this flexi, I realized that normally we girls wear a mini, so I was a bit nervous to put it on to see if it would fit (the one we received was an extra-small), but surprisingly it stayed in practically all day! Tally-ho, hooray, and all that!

Our family doesn't hardly ever go picnicking any more, even though we seldom did so when I was younger. However there's just something so romantic and dreamy about packing up a lunch and going to some spot by a lake, or a park in the country. This particular picnic brought to mind an old song called: "Wait 'Till the Sun Shines, Nellie", because it had just been raining, and it almost seemed as if this photo-shoot would never happen. But all we had to do was wait till the sun came shining down, and "picnic point" was ready and waiting.

  3. Hi Maria!
What do you mean by favorite color? Do you mean favorite color of clips, or just favorite color in general?

I've never had a flexi before, so I'm not exactly sure how I would style it, but I have a feeling I would use it with EVERYTHING! :)

Cute clip and outfit. I am always impressed with your sewing ability! I live near the beach and really enjoy spending time there. I can imagine an old pair of comfy jeans rolled up with my extra long striped white and orange t-shirt and bare feet with a cute flexi tucked in my hair. I can already feel a cool breeze and smell the salt air. ~Lisa <3

  22. I would like to style it with a dress but unfortunately I don't have a dress to wear it with so I would probably style it with my navy blue skirt and my red and white striped shirt, or the navy skirt and a gray shirt.

  23. I would style this flexi with my navy blue maxi skirt and a blue and white striped t-shirt, boat shoes, and a nautical-themed necklace!

  24. I have many blue items in my wardrobe--not on purpose, but it simply happened that everything that I like in the consignments stores happened to be blue! And since blue is an oh-so-nautical color, I think the flexi clip would go with many outfits that I have--especially a blue dress that echoes a 1940s look. It would be the perfect picnic outfit, too! Very summery and simple, and very comfortable.

I love your outfit, Brigid! I think that that top is my favorite that you have made. I love the shade of red--it looks like a heather-red!

    Great photos, Charlotte!

I would style it for Bible Bee. How neat is it that it fits the Jonah theme?!

  26. It all goes so well together, picnic blanket included! I love the skirt. And I love the whole relaxed look of it - perfect for sitting on the ground!
I could either wear my white pants (seaside!) I've recently made, but white may not be the best idea... or the blue pleated skirt I've finished even more recently, which I'm wearing right now but which is still waiting for its introduction on the blog... both nicely summery and pretty and yes, comfortable to sit down in. :-)

  37. I think it's so fun that LillaRose has come out with a nautical flexi! :) I think a khaki skirt, a white and navy striped tee-shirt, with touches of red (maybe in the form of a belt?) would be a fun way to style this flexi!

  50. I've been hesitating to mention it, but I do have a questions about the Rafflecopter, Boyer ladies: I've noticed that it's stopped counting entries for me. When I pin an image to pinterest daily, it used to add two points, as it says--but for the last two days my points stayed at 10. Is there a max that we earn through pinning images? Am I doing something wrong? :)

    1. Hi Genevieve!

I honestly have to say I don't know the answers to your questions. I'm really sorry. If it worked that way for you for Pinterest, then I think it probably would work that way for everybody, so you won't have an unfair chance.

      Sorry I couldn't help further!
