Hello! Today I am going to share with you all my first ever makeup tutorial for my Healthful Beauty series! *Cue streamers and confetti* I couldn't help but think just how wonderful it would be to come up with a makeup tutorial that was both vintage inspired and healthy for your skin, so that's just what I did when developing this look.

This 1940's inspired makeup tutorial is an easy, everyday type of look with no cat-eyes, crazy brows, intense eyeshadow, or any of those stereotypical methods of achieving a vintage look. Instead, I wanted to make this tutorial as low-key and practical for you ladies as I could. Although there are a few elegant, precision-based methods throughout this tutorial, I think you will find it very adaptable for both your everyday makeup routine, and any chance you may have to actually dress up in 1940's garb. I hope you enjoy!

I am so thankful to the two companies who sponsored several fabulous products for me to use in this tutorial, that is: Cowgirl Dirt and Faerie Organic! They provide topnotch cosmetics, and I would highly recommend these companies to both those ladies who are looking for a healthy alternative to conventional brands, as well as to those just looking for another option for fabulous color choices and well-made cosmetics. Whether you are the in the first situation or the second, you get the best of both worlds: a good selection of fabulous cosmetics that are healthy for your skin!

What theme of beauty tutorial would you like to see next (i.e- 1960s, everyday, special occasion)?

Wonderful post/tutorial as always......I was wondering if you've heard of a song called "Elmer's Tune." It's a song my Mom taught her children and we still sing it! Think it's from the 1940s.....very catchy and fun to sing.
ReplyDeleteI love this!! So nice to see *natural* makeup ideas!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, and that is great that it is natural! I would love to see a special occasion one next, because I have a few coming up soon! :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I would love a series of posts about healthful beauty from each decade, kind of like you did with your fashion series…
ReplyDeleteI love how subtle and natural this look is! I'd love to see a special occasion look next. :) Your singing at the end of the video sounds great!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Charlotte! I like how elegant but subtle this look is. More historical makeup tutorials would be fun to see, as well as perhaps a special occasion look that might be worn at Christmas...even though it's 5 months away. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice singing at the end there, by the way. ;)
Very fun! I really love the 1940's make-up look. And even more exciting to see because Becca and I just ordered some things from Cowgirl Dirt, and the lipstick in Secratariat was one of them! Or technically, two of them, because Becca likes to copy me. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like to see an everyday look or a take on the 60s.

I'd love to see some every day make up, being new to the make up thing. :)

It's you singing!! This is my favourite Andrews Sisters song! My sisters and I are trying to learn it but we're struggling because we don't have any music and are trying to learn it from a recording of the Andrews Sisters. You sounded beautiful. The 1940's are my favourite era currently!
