The Flower Parlor // Flower Mobile Tutorial

Flower Mobile Tutorial
Oh Joy! A tutorial! I am super excited to share with all of you the work that Charlotte and I put into this very first crepe paper flower tutorial; and most of you will be happy to know that it is of my last creation, the Spring Flower Mobile. In order to pull it off, I had to recreate everything; and some items, such as the sheer blue ribbon were used up in the first mobile, so I had to use different materials for the second. Do take a look!

2) Secure by wrapping the floral tape in a downward diagonal position.
3) Repeat three more times for the rest of the stems.
Putting in the Anthers
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1 // Pips (or stamens)
2 // A bit of floral tape

Putting in the Anthers
1) Pinch the pips in half.
2) Wrap pips around the ribbon ended stem.
3) Secure by wrapping with floral tape.

Constructing the Flower
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1 // Your color choice of either pre-wrinkled* Wrapping Tissue or Crepe Paper for four 1 1/2" petals per flower.
*To pre-wrinkle, cut out a skinny section of tissue paper and gently twist it. Carefully untwist it, and cut out the petals. This wrinkling gives the light tissue paper more structure and texture.

Spring Flower Mobile
Now don't be discouraged if this tutorial looks a little ominous to you. It will take a bit of practice, but it is easy enough for anyone to grasp quickly! And I know that I sent you on a little online shopping detour along the way, but again, everything in moderation. If this paper craft is something near and dear to your heart, or else you are very new to it but think it would be such fun to learn, let me reassure you by saying that, yes! It is very fun to do! And you will enjoy it if you like detailed work and have an afternoon's worth of time on hand one to two days a week like I do... if I am lucky that is.

One last thing: I know I forgot to mention the leaves in this tutorial, but really they are optional. If you would like to add them, just take two pieces of 1"x4" of any color of Wrapping Tissue, twist it carefully but tightly so you get a structured texture. Untwist the paper and cut out one long pointed leaf from each piece, and hot glue the ends to the bottom of the stem. Then repeat for the remaining flowers.

What did you all think of this first Tutorial?
I would love to know, how many of you would like to take up this craft?

Have a splendid day my friends!

"All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls aways,
But the word of the Lord endures forever."
1 Peter 1:24-25
