Hana-Marmota left me a wonderful comment on last week's post with these links included in her comment, and all the credit for finding them has to go to her! Thanks Hana!
Anyways, Steph of 3 Hours Past (a sewing blog I actually started following recently) did an awesome post on body shape here, explaining why all those quizzes, etc. that I gave you links to last week don't work for everybody, and why we seamstresses (and most other people) don't have to follow those quizzes to a tee.
Steph also did an awesome "Conversant in Color" Series on her blog, covering everything from finding your coloring, to separates. Here's the link to the separates post which has the links to the rest of the posts in the series.
After reading what little of these posts that I have, I feel like a complete dunce about last weeks post with all the links and quizzes! I should have just directed you to Steph!
Well! Now that I've got those links out there for you all to read (which you REALLY MUST GO READ THEM!!! If you want to properly continue on in this series you really should go read them! I mean it would be like going on a journey without a supply of food!) let's get on to the outfit portion of the post!
So, after last week's challenge, I'm sure you all are wondering what I wore for the challenge. I played it safe with an outfit I knew already worked for me, but added a few accessories to change it up a bit.
T-shirt / Hand-me-down from Jessica // Skirt / Homemade // Belt / F21 // Hair Flower / Homemade //
Purse / Borrowed from Charlotte // Shoes / Hand-me-down from Jessica //
Music / "My Heart Skips A Beat" by THE SECRET SISTERS
Why does this outfit work? Well, with previous experience in wearing the peach t-shirt, I know the color looks good on me. The skirt doesn't sit at my natural waist like I would like, so I let my shirt remain untucked and wore a belt to accentuate my waist, since I am a straight figure. The flower in my hair reflected the color of some of the flowers in the skirt, providing rhythm.
Are you all excited about next week? You should be, because we're going to be talking about Style Types!
What specific style types do you want to see covered in the next post?
What do YOU think of my outfit? Does it look good on me? I want honest feedback. ;)
What do you think of this series, thus far? How can I improve my posts?
Blessings,Brigid
