Harmonious Sounds

At the end of June we allowed the girls to enter a "talent contest" for the Warren County Parks. It was part annual Festival of the Arts held in historic Lebanon OH. The challenging part of the whole commitment was getting a recording of the music on a CD so they could sing with the music (played by their piano and voice teacher). After several attempts and contacting friends we found the solution! Garage Band on the Mac allows us to do this simple thing. After we overcame this, I was able to focus on the actual performance, I mean on costumes actually. I had already been in dress/costume making mode for our trip to Boston and hey what's a few more dresses! I made 9 dresses in a matter of 5 weeks. So all this to say this blogger has been busy. The girls sang perfectly super. They didn't place but what a wonderful experience. If they were nervous I surely couldn't tell. Very Brave! Also, they met three other sisters who were competing (the only other homeschool/family group) and who are Christians. They live fairly close to us too. This other group placed first and will be competing at a final show for all the Ohio Festival of the Arts contests.
The whole singing thing has become another "hobby" for them and me too. It sure adds variety to our day. Someone asked me recently if I listened to the radio, which I don't. It got me to thinking why. One practical reason is I can't get reception in my car (weird!!) or house, but the other is better to describe why. It's either peace and quiet or it's harmonious sounds created by our blessings from God.
