Hello there, dear readers!
I wanted to share with you a few vintage finds that I've collected over the past weeks and months.
Sound like fun? I hope so :)
-The Purse-
~This purse I found during an antique shopping spree we took on Brigid's birthday. It is made up of beautiful red leather, with a wonderful snap like clasp on the top (I love the clasps on purses from the 30s-40s-50s! So sturdy and durable!) I'm suspecting it is from the 40s because of the style of it.
~This lovely thing my Mom and Dad bought for me for my birthday. I love, LOVE this purse, and I found a splendid little magic trick it can do...
TADA!! can't see it very well in this photo, but- remove the handle... and...
VOILA! An instant clutch! And what's more, the handle fits inside! :D I love things like this :)
-The Hat-
This lovely specimen I picked up a few weeks ago at Goodwill! I am in need of a hat pin to wear it properly, which there are plenty of around our local antique stores- I just haven't gotten up enough courage (if you can call it that) to spend $15 on one :P
Someday I suppose...
-The Shoes-
Well, I must admit, these aren't actually vintage. I picked them up the other day at Goodwill, and am hoping to wear them this fall for 30s through early 50s themed outfits, which I think I'll be able to pull off quite nicely :)
-The Dress-
My amazing $30-ish steal :D I LOVE this dress. I purchased it at our favorite vintage store quite a few months ago, but have never gotten around to posting it until now.
I'm thinking it is from late 40s to early 50s because of the kimono sleeves and full skirt.
I must admit however that I did have to mend a few minor holes; but besides that, it was in perfect condition!
Well that's all for now! Hope you've enjoyed rummaging through our vintage finds!

Love, love, LOVE the lining!! Sooo cute! The material looks a lot like the fabric on the quilt skirt I'm planning on making... |
Do you see the undone handle there? |

The beautiful (silk we think!) material graced in beautiful piping all down the front... |

I believe the dress was homemade by someone because it has no tag and the piping and pinked seams give the impression that it is so |
-Brigid's Purse-
Brigid purchased this purse the same time I purchased my shoes (at the same store of course ;)). It is an amazing 30s or 40s purse made by Tano (an excellent purse company, so we hear), with a wonderful squeeze-y clasp with art deco looking motif on it.

Lovely finds! I especially love that little red purse and that dress! The convertible purse is quite a find as well!
ReplyDeleteAs for my own vintage finds, I found a book from 1906 at our local Goodwill recently, in lovely condition and with the cutest cover! Then I also found a bag of vintage zippers for $1...not too exciting, but they're certainly useful!
