The Scrap Skirt

Gasp! That's our basement storage room! Specifically our fabric storage resulting from four years of sewing most of the girls clothes, crafts, doll making, historical dress making, and even some donations from friends.

Here are the skirts, we call the style a ruffle skirt. Each skirt needed about 3 yards of fabric so it was a puzzle to put together. I cut smaller versions of the pieces, about an inch square. Then I arranged them in layers, like a collage, making a mini version of the skirt. Sewing the skirts from the layouts was so easy.

Once I completed the first, I was onto another, then yet another. They all turned out amazing considering they were scraps.

In the end the scrap room looks unaffected by all this. Oh well.
